DR1 - Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company, has been awarded contracts to modernize the air traffic control systems in the Dominican Republic.
Harris will supply its Liberty-STAR(TM) Voice Communication and Control System (VCCS) to the Cibao International Airport in Santiago de los Caballeros.
The airport will be equipped with touch-screen operator positions, radio and telephone interfaces, and a System Maintenance, Administration and Reconfiguration Terminal (SMART) and will feature a digital recorder and a Liberty-MET weather system.
Harris will install the systems and provide operation and maintenance training for the air traffic controllers and technical staff at both locations.
