Dominican Today - Santo Domingo.- HHS Foundation is a non-profit organization working in the areas of Health, Education and Sport since 1998. In this moment of anguish and devastation of Haiti caused by the 1/12/10 earthquake, HHS Foundation has focused its resources in an effort to support our fellow countrymen.  Our support is being channeled through various organizations and entities in our country.  To the Dr Dario Contreras Hospital, we have donated medicine, food and medical and office supplies. In addition, we have two of volunteers helping in the areas of patient care and kitchen. We have also donated medicine, food and medical and office supplies to the orphanage being built by musical artist Rubby Perez.  We have also opened a shelter, located nearby to our headquarters, for 20 Haitian parents in which we are providing them with room and board.  These individuals are parents to several of the children being treated at the Dario Contreras Hospital.  These medications, food and supplies were donated by the following organizations: Catholic Medical Mission Board de New York American Wheelchair Mission Knights of Columbus USA Wheelchair Foundation Canadian Wheelchair Cross International Industrias Empacadoras Dominicana (Jaja) Comercial Corazón Cardioimágenes Especializadas VD Bursen Hermanas Carmelitas Teresas de San José Hermanas Hospitalarias Jesús Nazareno Franciscanas HHS Foundation, volunteers In our continuous effort to support of fellow nation, in March, we are planning to donate wheelchairs to those individuals who may need them due to amputation and/or injuries caused during the earthquake.  The personal data of these individuals is being compiled with support of the Haitian NGOs and volunteers.  We also planning to continue our efforts to collect school supplies such as:  backpacks, notebooks, writing paper, pen/pencils, coloring pencils, folders, chalk, glue, adhesive tapes, scissors, and other educational related supplies.  We are counting with your continued support! Thank you for your generosity!! Hector Hipolito Algarroba, President Agripina Martinez Peguero, Executive Manager Read original at Dominican Today.
