DR1 - Former President of Honduras Manuel Zelaya was hospitalized over the weekend after suffering a fall in Santo Domingo. 59-year old Zelaya arrived in the country on Thursday to take part in a panel discussion organized by the Central American Parliament (Parlacen). Zelaya is a deputy member of the group. He is reported to have fractured his femur but is recovering at the Centro de Diagnostico, Medicina Avanzada and Telemedicina (Cedimat) of the Plaza de la Salud General Hospital. His physicians, orthopedic surgeons Jose Ramon Yunen and Ricardo Gutierrez said that he should be back on his feet within 72 hours. As reported, he was given a hip replacement but there were no complications, so he should be sent home in a week, they told the press. Read original at DR1.
